GLOBAL WARMING
Over the past 150 years humans have been burning more and more fuel
especially fossil fuels – coal and gas for example. The fuel is needed to power vehicles and factories
and to generate electricity. Because more fuel is being burnt, more carbon dioxide is being put into
the atmosphere. The extra carbon dioxide is increasing the green house effect, so the earth’s atmosphere
is absorbing more infra – red energy and the earth is getting warmer.
The earth is getting warmer so now the ice at the north and south poles is melting.
This is putting more water into the seas and oceans, which can cause flooding is coastal area.
Because the Earth’s atmosphere is getting warmer there is more energy in the air, so storms,
hurricanes, and typhoons are becoming stronger and more frequent. There is also evidence that
global warming is changing the Earth’s climate, making some places drier and others wetter.
Here are some ways to save energy and help reduce the greenhouse effect. Remind your
family and friends at school, or in your English club, to do these too.

when you have finished using them
2. Go by bike, bus or walk
You can save energy and keep healthy too by riding a bike or walking to school,

The Lion and the Goat
It was a summer day. It was a very hot day. Every body was suffering from the heat.
Everybody was very thirsty. But it’s hard to find water. The water and the spring were dry.
A tired lion was walking weakly. He walked everywhere to find water.” If I cannot find water soon,
I’m going to die,” the lion thought.
Not far from the lion, there was a goat. He was thirsty , too.

No one can live without communication with other people. If we do this, life will become empty and sad. So we all need friends.
Some experts say that making friends is not easy. We may hesitate to make the firs move. Keeping the friends is also difficult. We often hear many people ask themselves. “What should I do to my fiends to like me?” or “How can I make more people like me”. There are many books about friendship is ship actually. One of the famous books tells about friendship is “How to win friends and influence people.” It was written by Dale Camegie, in 1936. The books became the best seller. It was “POR SMP”. The players consisted of eleven main players and some substitutive players. After our team won in some section games, we came to the final. |

I had an interesting experience. It happened when I joined scouting camp. I must wake up at 02.00 o’clock in the morning. Oouch…, it was very cold! Then at 04.00 o’clock I must walked about 8 km to reach the yard of Cepoko. Hmm…, very far. But, I felt happy at the time. Because I could see the morning sceneries. Wow…! It was very beautiful. May be I couldn’t forgot it.
I had some achievements. When I studied in elementary school, I joint the student models contest. I got the second rank. In abacus olympiade, I got the second rank for 8th level. In religion competition, I got the first rank. When I joint try put, I got the fourth rank in Magetan regency. I was the presenter of my school program, when I was in elementary school. I liked to be the presenter at the time.
